Thank you mums

DH needed some thank you notes and today's challenge over on SCS for the CAS cards was Rock & Roll.  Well I didn't have any stamps that were instruments or sentiments about rock & roll, so I decdided to do the rock & roll stamping technique, only I used markers instead.  So, I'm not sure if this counted as a real rock & roll card, but  it was all I could come up with.  LOL

I used the stamp set Thankful Mums by Mark's Finest Papers and markers to color the image.  It was suppose to be a CAS (clean & simple) card, and I think this one fits the bill.  No frills, ribbons or anything.

Stamps:  Thankful Mums
Ink:  Markers and Palette Noir
Paper:  Dried Marigold Mottled finish & corn husk by MFP, kiwi kiss
Misc:  none

Valentine Luminary for a Friend

I made this heart luminary for a friend who's favorite holiday is Valentines.  I used Cherry Cobbler paper and the stamp set Hearts Hearts Hearts by Mark's Finest Papers.  I used the MS heart border punch to punch around the top of the lunimary and the 1 3/4" circle punch to punch out the windows.  The vellum has tiny hearts on it, although it doesn't show up in the photo.  I cute a battery operated tea light in it.  I punched the heart with the rose out 4 times, cut it out and popped it up on a pop dot.

I'm going to have to make some more of these luminaries as I think they are just adorable!  Maybe some for Easter would be cute.............we'll see what I can come up with.

Happy Yellow Pansies

Pansies just make me happy.  Period.  Whether they're out in my garden, in my flower boxes, or on a card, they make me happy and this card is no exception.  I'm so glad Faith designed this pansy set called Happy Pansies.  What an appropriate name for the set!

Sorry I've been away again most of this week.  It's been another busy week at work and I just haven't felt like stamping when I get home from work.  I've had this card made since the weekend, but just got it photographed tonight.  Maybe next week will be better!  One can always hope..............

Here's the details for the card

Stamps:  Happy Pansies by Mark's Finest Papers
Paper:  Outright Lemon & Snow Storm Smooth by MFP, unknown DSP
Ink:  Grey
Misc:  prismas, baby oil, ribbon, pansy charm

This is one of the newly released stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers called In the Forest.  I just think this scene is so serene and peaceful.  I just love it.  I colored the image with chalks (also available @ Mark's) and this was a very fast & easy CAS card.  I love the "Have a Beautiful Day" sentiment also.

Happy Birthday Teapot

Oh, I am so tired of having computer problems!!!!!  DH had to buy me a new netbook because my other one crashed.  I was used to using Microsoft Digital Imaging software to edit my photos and XP.   It was so easy.  Now Microsoft no longer has MS Digital Imaging and I've had to learn an entire new way to edit my photos and add my Speedy watermark!  And the images are turning out too small!  So I've got to find another program that will allow me to edit AND insert my watermark!  And my new computer has Windows 7!  YUCK!  What a pain!!!!

Anyway, I got this card made yesterday and I do like it so I decdied that even though the picture is small (you can double click on it and get a larger image), I would post it tonight.  The stamp set is one of the newly released sets from Mark's Finest Papers called Floral Tea.  I just love this set!

Stamps:  Floral Tea (sentiment is from Take a Peak)
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Aged Berry by MFP
Ink:  Distress Ink Stormy Sky
Misc:  lace (from MFP), oval & scallop oval punches

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

You're Such a Cut Up

I haven't had a chance to stamp all week and was really having withdrawals!!!  LOL  So I finally got to go to my stamping room tonight to see what I could come up with.  I'd been thinking about this card all week.  This is for the Color Challenge #304, which was to use red, white & silver (or grey).  Well my scissors are heat embossed in silver BUT they look gold in the picture!!!!   It must be because it's dark outside and my lightbox couldn't quite pick up the right colors.  Oh well, take my word for it, they are silver!
The stamp set is a sneak peak at the set called "Sew What" that will be released next Tuesday by Mark's Finest Papers (http://www.marksfinestpapers.com/)
All of the supplies for the card came from Mark's Finest Papers including the pin.  I also used my cricut to cut the ovals for the main image.  The ovals are cut at 3 1/4, 3 1/2 & 3 3/4 using the Platntin Schoolbook cartridge.  Quick easy fun.  LOL

Stamps:  Sew What
Ink:  Versa Mark, red
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Cherry Slush, silver
Misc:  ribbon, Cricut, Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, pin

I'll try to get something posted tomorrow too, but I can't promise anything.  I will get some stamping done this weekend though, so please check back often.

Christmas Thank You

This is the card I'm using for all our Christmas Thank You notes that we need to send.  I'm really pleased with the way they came out.  I used my cricut to cut out the circles for the focal image.  I'm trying to learn how to use my cricut more and more.  I'm going to a Cricut round up on 16 January at a LSS.  It should be a lot of fun.

Stamps:  Greetings of the Season by Mark's Finest Papers
Paper:  Corn Husk, gold metallic, always artichoke, soft suede
Ink:  always artichoke & soft suede
Misc:  prismas, baby oil, ribbon, charm, oval & scalloped oval punches, MS holly border punch

Pretty Thank You Cards

A client of mine gave me a wonderful box of stamping/scrapbooking supplies for Christmas.  It was a real surprise, and I am very touched that they thought of me!  This gorgeous gold washi paper and the MS dogwood flower stickers were part of the gift, so I made thank you notes to send to them with the supplies.

I "watermarked" the pink area with 2 different sets from Mark's Finest Papers.

The top card uses MFP Hearts Hearts Hearts stamp set and the sentiment if from Flourishes and Frame.  The bottom card uses the butterfly and sentiment from Ladybugs and Carnation from Mark's.

I hope everyone's year is off to a great start!

A Normal Colored Chickadee.......well almost

Sorry that I've been gone for so long, but things were hectic around the Penn household.  I'm sure each and everyone of you had the same business also and completely understand!

I finally got to my stamping room today and made a few cards.  I made some Christmas themed thank you notes that I can't complete until the stickles dries.....I usually complete the entire card THEN apply the stickles, but I forgot this time.  I have also been working on my sneak peak cards for the upcoming blog hop for Mark's Finest Papers.  You are going to love all 4 of the new sets that will be released in January!!!  I'm having so much fun with them.

My card today is for the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS.  Here's the deets:

Stamps:  Ferns and Chickadee by Mark's Finest Papers
Paper:  Corn Husk from MFP, soft suede, pear pizzaz, always artichoke, Basic Grey "Eerie" paper pack
Ink:  Soft Suede
Misc:  ribbon, charm, prismas, baby oil, Smooch pearlized top coat

The name of the card is A Normal Chickadee......well almost because I couldn't resist putting some of the sparkly Smooch on the white part of my little chicadees neck.  You can't see the sparkle in the picture, but IRL it is very sublte and pretty.  As many of you know, I have made my chickadees in all colors, from blues and pinks to even an orange one.

Well I hope that 2011 will be very happy, healthy and prosperous for you and your family!
Happy New Year
