Oh, Deer

First and foremost, I must say that my thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the horrific shootings in CT yesterday. 

I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to post for the past couple of weeks!!!  Things have been so busy at work, and we had our Christmas open house last weekend, with about 50 guests.  I took off Friday to get ready for the open house on Saturday night.  I then spent Sunday putting things back away and resting a little bit.  We spent the two previous weekends decorating the house and Chirstmas tree.  Wow, it makes me tired just thinking about it! LOL

My card today is for the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS.  My inspiration was a plate with a reindeer head on it.  I immediately thought of this cute little mini set called "Oh, Deer" by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.

"Winter Scenes"

I liked this set and card so much, I made 3 cards like this.  I may make a few more and use them for my Christmas thank you cards.  One of the ones I made I used as a thank you for a client who sings in an all man chorus here in the DC area. 

 

I stamped the Cherry Sluch CS with VersaMark embossing ink, and then used Speedy the Cat detail gold embossing powder.  I popped up the "Thank You" sentiment.  The sentiment is from the stamp set "Welcome Poppies".

This card was very easy to make.  I stamped the trees and punched them out with a 1 1/4" circle punch, then backed them with in Raspberry Razzmatazz CS punched with a 1 3/8" circle.  For the designer paper, I used a MS punch to punch along the bottom.  I don't know the name of the embossing folder that I used, but it's from Sizzix.  The sentiment is from "Welcome Poppies".

Ink:  Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Crushed Olives

Papers:  Snow Storm Smooth, Lily Pad Green, Raspberry Razzmatazz by MFP, DSP

Isn't this Amaryllis set just lovely?  I'll be using it a lot I'm sure!  You can't tell it from the photo, but I used gold Smooch for the stemmens.  It's really pretty IRL.

This stamp set is so much fun.  I stamped the small buildings twice on my Snow Storm Smooth white card stock, then stamped the larger building on another piece of white CS, cut it out and popped it up pop dots.
