Speed Fox & Friends Blog Challenge~~Use a Different Fold

This week's challenge for Speedy Fox & Friends is to use a different fold.  I decided to do a center step card.  I love this type of card, but I haven't made one in months!  I CASEd a card that I got from Lois Bak in a card swap a few months ago.  I did take artistic liberty and made my daffodil lavendar.  I've never seen a lavendar daffodil, but I like it.  Maybe Mother Nature should take a look at my card-LOL!

Stamps:  Daffodil Greetings, Flaps My Wattles, Mother's Magnolias (sentiment)
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Wisteria Wonder, Vintage Violet
Ink:  Palette Noir Black, Wisteria Wonder
Misc:  Copics, Nesties, Embossing Folder, MS border punch, Bling

I'm attaching a video tutorial I made last year on how to make a center step card just in case you haven't made one before.  I hope you enjoy the video.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll come back very soon!

A Simple Thank You

I needed a Thank You note for Winnie's dog walker.  She found Winnie & Nyko's treats.  We had been looking for them for over a month!!!  I wanted to let her know how appreciative everyone was for them.  Yes, Nyko eats dog treats.  He won't eat kitty treats.  Silly cat.  He also has to get his teeth cleaned tomorrow.  Poor kitty, he doesn't like the vet, so it is going to be very traumatic for him!  He even bit me when the vet tried to take blood a week ago!  Ouch!

For my card I used a new SU stamp set that I got for $5 with my last order.  It's called "Reason to Smile".  I like it.

Stamps:  Reason to Smile, Poppies (sentiment)
Paper:  Pool Party, Midnight Muse, unknown DSP
Ink:  Pool Party, Midnight Muse
Misc:  punches, brads

Thanks for stopping by to look today.  Don't forget that Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co blog hop starts this Tuesday!

Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge~~Use Dots

This week's Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge is to use dots on your card.  I used doddles and dots around my greeting and image.  I made this a tent topper card, one of my favorite types of cards to make.  This was a lot of fun to make.  I apologize that the photo is a little dark.  When I tried to llighten it up, it was too light, so I settled on this.

Stamps:  Gullible, Sand Dollar, Daffodil Delight (sentiment)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Island Indigo
Misc:  none

I hope you'll join us this week for this fun challenge!  Have a great weekend!

My LIttle Giraffe

This is my card from yesterday's Inspiration Challenge on SCS.  They had a cute little giraffe charm that I just had to use as my inspiration.  I love this image.  I think this looks like a baby giraffe who has just been born and hasn't stood up for the first time.  (Yes, I have a vivid imagination! LOL)

Yesterday morning I had to take our kitty, Nyko, to the vet for his shots.  (He is our pound kitty that we adopted a year ago).  He's beautiful.  He's a full blooded Seal Point Balinese and has gorgeous deep blue eyes.  Anyway, the doctor decided she needed to do blood work on him because he needs to have his teeth cleaned.  Well, Nyko decided she DIDN'T need to draw blood and a battle ensued.  In the midst of it all, he bit me!!!!  For an 8 1/2 lb kitty, he sure is a fighter!  Finally, after 2 vet techs came in to hold him down, the vet got the blood she needed.  Nyko was really mad, but
otherwise unscathed.  However, when we got home, he wouldn't come to me for the rest of the day!  This morning, all seems forgiven.

Now for the details of my card:

Stamps:  Above the Rest
Paper:  Corn Husk, Dark Chocolate Bar by MFP, unknown DSP
Ink:  Soft Suede
Misc:  ribbon, charm

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the story of Nyko and his vet experience!

Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge~~Back to Nature

This weeks Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge is "Back to Nature".  I decided to use the stamp set "North American Woods" because I thought that a wolf really symbolized nature.  This is a very simple card.  I stamped the sentiment "Get Back to Nature" in River Rock ink all over the River Rock background, stamped my wolf image in basic grey on Snow Storm Smooth CS, colored his eyes with my blue copic marker, cut him out with an oval nestie and backed it with a bashful blue scalloped oval nestie.  A quick large MS border punch in dark chocolate bar, and viola' I was done!   I'm thinking about making more of these to use a birthday cards for my male clients in September.  We'll see.

Stamps:  North American Woods
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Dark Chocolate Bar, Bashful Blue, River Rock
Ink:  Basic Grey, River Rock
Misc:  Copics, Nesties, Large MS Border Punch

I hope you will join us this week for our Back to Nature challenge.  You could be the winner of a stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend!
