Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week #88~~Use a Snowflake

This week for Speedy's Challenge Brenda challenged us to use a snowflake on our card.  I used an embossing folder of snowflakes, then stamped just one single snowflake in night of navy for contrast.  It was raining when I took this photo and the colors look very dark, almost black, but the CS is Dark Night Navy by MFP, and the ink is night of navy.    This was a fun and quick card to make.  I hope you will play along with us this week!

Stamps:  Ice and Snow
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Dark Night Navy
Ink:  night of navy
Misc:  embossing folder, ribbon, straight ticket corner punch, twine

Happy Stamping!

A Walk in the Sparkly Woods

This card did not turn out like I had it in my mind's eye.  I thought the rhinestones on the trees would look more sparkly and snow like.  Oh well.  The trees are from the stmap set "A Walk in the Woods" by Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company.  There are a total of 4 trees in the set, and I rarely use these trees, but I really like them together,so I think I may try to use these trees to come up with some masculine birthday cards.....we'll  see.

Stamps:  A Walk in the Woods
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, China Blue Eyes
Ink:  Versa Mark, garden green, night of navy
Misc:  rhinestones, MS snowflake border punch

Have a wonderful evening.

Happy Stamping!

Stamps:  Pucker Up
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Bubblegum Pink, always artichoke
Ink:  Palette Noir Black, Regal Rose
Misc:  Copics, hat pin, pearls, ribbon

I hope you will play along with us for Speedy's challenge this week.  Since it's anything goes, you can upload anything you stamp.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week 86~~Make a Christmas Card

This week for Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge I challenged everyone to make a Christmas card.  I like the more non-traditional colors of this card.  The designer paper is from the Premium Paper Craft Pack Victorian Christmas.  I think it really coordinates well with the pinecones that I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Stamps:  New Pines, Bells on Bobtail (sentiment)
Ink:  Versa Mark, pear pizzaz, early espresso
Paper:  Deep Olive, Corn Husk, designer paper
Misc:  MFP Gold Embossing Powder, ribbon, charm, nesties

I hope you can join us this week for Speedy's challenge.   You could be the lucky winner of  the new stamp set "Ice and Snow"!

This photo is really washed out.  I'm having to use my small camera rather than our nice Nikon one becasue the battery won't charge on the Nikon and we haven't had a chance to get a new one.  It just went out all of the sudden on Friday.  I am so frustrated!!!!!  This card is so much more stricking IRL than in the photo!!!!

My top card is the card made with the stamp set Pussy Willow.  I really like the little chickadee sitting there.  I took artistic liberty and made him a dull mustard yellow because I thought it went well with my BG paper.

Stamps:  Pussy Willow
Ink:  soft suede, pear pizzaz
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, 7 Gypsies "Conservatory" paper pad
Misc:  Copics

My second card does not show up the irridescent smooch I used on the trees to make them look like they had ice glittering on them.  IRL it is very pretty.

Stamps:  Ice and Snow
Ink:  Palette Noir Black, bashful blue
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Speedy the Cat Black Linen, China Blue Eyes Linen
Misc:  smooch

LOL.  I used a charm, of course, ribbone and a brad.  I'm going to send this card to a good friend of mine.  The inside says, "Let's enjoy a cup together soon".

Stamps:  Floral Tea by Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #83~~Make it Masculine

This week for Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge, Linda challenged us to make a masculine card.  I love this pheasant from the Autumn Glory stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Company.  I think I'm going to make 8-10 more of these to use for my Dec birthdays.  This is also one of my favorite background papers from MFP called Aged Marigold.  I love the mottled look of it.  You can't really tell it too much in the photo, but IRL it is beautiful!

Stamps:  Autumn Glory
Ink:  early espresso
Papers:  Aged Marigold, Corn Husk
Misc:  Copics, ribbon, charm

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We'll be eating the leftover Turkucken til Christmas!! LOL  In case you don't know what a Turducken is, it's a chicken stuffed inside a duck, stuffed inside a turkey.  It is all boneless except for the turkey wings and legs.  It is stuffed with cajun sausage and cornbread stuffing.  Yummy!!!!!

Please join us for Speedy's challenge this week.  You may even be the lucky winner of "Snow and Ice" which is a soon to be released stamp set for December.

Yes indeed, it snowed here in Northern Virginia (right outside of Washington DC)!!!  So I had to make this card to "celebrate" snow in October! Stamped Candles

These candles were so much fun to do!!!!  Today was stamped candle day for our 12 Days of Christmas mini blog hop at Mark's Finest Papers.  Click HERE for the start of the hop today.  I used the stamp set "Boo to You" by Mark's Finest Papers and colored them with copics.  The small candle with Speedy riding on the broom is from "Broom Rides" from last Halloweeen.  The edges are punched with Martha Stewart edge punches.  I made the moon by punching out a circle with a circle punch and using it as a mask and used a dauber to use various colors of yellows from Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color in the circle.  These are sitting on my bar at home for my Halloween decoration.

I hope you will join us tomorrow for the 9th day of the mini 12 Days of Christmas blog hop.

Have a wonderful evening!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week #78~~Altered Photo Album

Since we've been having the 12 Days of Christmas mini blog hop this week, Faith challenged us to make one of the projects that have already been shown during the blog hop.  I decided to make an altered frame with a sticky note pad attached and an altered Pentel pen.  This frame is 5x7.  I ususally use 4x6, but couldn't find the smaller size.  However, had I had a larger post it note it would have fit nicely.  I used the new stamp set "Snowball?" from Mark's Finest Papers

I hope you have been joining us for the 12 Days of Christmas.  We have really been having fun with it!  I can't wait to see your altered/3-d projects over on Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge blog

Stamps:  Snowball?
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Cherry Slush, Corn Husk by MFP, October Afternoon "Good Cheer" paper pad
Ink:  Palette Noir Black

Ink:  Versa Fine Smokey Grey
Misc:  copics, Cricut, Storybook cartridge

A Christmas Card and a Birthday Card

My first card tonight is from the sketch challenge over on SCS.  I usually make my owl white, like a snowy owl, but since I stamped it on Corn Husk CS by MFP I decdided he would look better as a brown owl.  I really like this image from the stamp set "Holly Greetings" by Mark's Finest Papers  You will see it again later in the week.  I used a small holly sticker that I've had in my stash for a while.  I thought it finished off the card nicely.  I ususally don't use stickers on my cards, just my scrapbook layouts, but this just seemed to work.

Stamps:  Holly Greetings
Paper:  Corn Husk, Cherry Sluch, garden green, DCWV glitter pad, Authentique "Wonder" paper pad
Ink:  soft suede, garden green
Misc:  copics, sticker

This card is for Monday's CAS challenge.  I am just now getting it finished and loaded.

Stamps:  Birthday Mini by MFP
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Bubblegum, Lily Pad by MFP, lavendar lace
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, VersaMark
Misc:  copics, MS glitter, Cricut expression, Storybook cartridge

I hope you have a wonderful evening.  Don't forget about the 12 Days of Christmas mini blog hop that continues tomorrow at Mark's Finest Papers blogspot.

This is my Bind it All project closed.  I covered chip board with designer paper from my stash and used "Little Birds with Big Mouths" as my focal image.

This is the inside of my project.  I bought a calendar and notepad from the dollar bin at M's and put it on the inside.  Since I used chip board, I can keep this in my purse and it won't get all dog eared.

My second Bind it All project is a Christmas theme

This is a small note pad that I stamped with Versa Mark ink using the Stamp set "Cardinals in Winter" and heat embossed in Silver. I used 4x4 inch coasters and covered them inside and out in Dark Night Navy by Mark's Finest Papers.  I stamped each of the inside pages with the small cardinal in night of navy ink.
