Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week 74~~Things with Wings

Oops, I forogt to have this post yesterday for Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge!!!!  LOL  And I'm the blog team coordinator!!!!  I can't believe I forgot to post my card for the challenge!!!  Silly me.

Anyway, the challenge by Carol is to use things with wings, and so I chose to use the stamp set "Ladybugs and Carnation" by Mark's Finest Papers which I really love to color.  I stamped the background with butterflies in Tim Holtz Milled Lavendar Distress ink.

Stamps:  Ladybugs and Carnation by MFP
Paper: Snow Storm Smooth, lavendar lace
Ink:  Palette Noir, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Milled Lavendar
Misc:  Ribbon, nesties, copics

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.  Winnie and I are off to the Olde Towne Dogge Walk to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.  It should be a lot of fun!

Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card & this is what I came up with this evening.  It didn't photograph real well, but it's cloudy here, and that could have something to dowith it.  I heat embossed the sentiment with Speedy the Cat Black Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called "A Walk in the Woods" by Mark's Finest Papers

Stamps:  A Walk in the Woods
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Speedy the Cat Black Linen by MFP
Ink:  Versa Mark
Misc:  Sizzix embossing folder, Speedy the Cat Black embossing powder, pearls, Sizzix Embosslit Beautiful Butterflies

I hope you're having a wonderful week!

Falling Leaves

Today's CAS (clean and simple) challenge today on SCS was to use a leaf on your card.  I used 2 different stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers "Autum Glory" & "Autumn Fun".  There are a couple of things that I wish I had done differently on this card.  One, I wish I had used Corn Husk (cream) paper and two, I wish I had used a brown pen for the squiggle border rather than the black pen I used.

I stamped the large maple leaf in the top corner with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Mark's Finest Papers Embossing Powder called Tomato.  I think sponged it with 3 different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks, cut it out and popped it up on pop dots.

Stamps:  Autum Glory & Autum Fun (the small oak leaf on the border)
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth by MFP
Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Inks Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, Barn Door
Misc:  Mark's Finest Paper Embossing Powder Tomato, pop dots

Have a great week!!!!

Happy Stamping!

Speedy the Cat Sunflower Seeds

I made this card for today's Featured Stamper over on SCS.  She has a great CAS gallery!  This stamp set is from Mark's Finest Papers called "Planted With Love".

Stamps:  Planted With Love, Daffodil & Anise (sentiment)
Ink:  Palette Noir
Paper:  Aged Marigold, Snow Storm Smooth, Lily Pad, Speedy the Cat Black Linen by MFP
Misc:  Prisma pearls, ribbon, copics

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

A quick update on our newest fur baby Nyko.  He's starting to really settle in nicely and comes into the family room with us now.  Geordi still occasionally hisses at poor little Nyko, but it doesn't seem to bother him.  He's really become a part of the family.

Here's a picture of him.  He gets in the bathtub every morning when we're getting ready for work and grooms himself.  He's so silly!

Have a great week.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week #73~~One Layer Card

I had a hard time coming up with a one layer card that I liked, but finally settled on this one.   Fall is my absolute favorite season, and I love the changing leaves, the crisp, cool morning, and this card reminds me of those days.  This is a new set called Autumn Glory by Mark's Finest Papers that was just released this past Tuesday.  It's a fabulous set.  I will be using it a lot for masculine birthday cards for next month and thank you notes.  Maybe even a get well card..............lots of possibilities here.

Stamps:  Autumn Glory by Mark's Finest Papers
Paper:  Corn Husk by MFP
Ink:  various colors
Misc:  none  (YIKES!!!  It was hard not to add any ribbon, bling, stickles etc to the card!  LOL)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Just Dandy in Lavendar~~A CAS card

This card is for today's featured stamper over on SCS.  However, my card is much more of a CAS card than Lisa Lynn's was.  She has some DSP across the bottom and ribbon, but once I stamped this out I didn't want to cover up any of the flowers.  I put mini brads in the middle of each flower.

Stamps:  Just Dandy by Mark's Finest Papers
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth by MFP, lavendar lace
Ink:  lavendar lace
Misc:  mini brads

I hope everyone has taken a moment today to remember all those that we lost a decade ago today.  I lost 11 colleages in the trade towers, and my DH was in Washington on assignment with the Army.  I could not reach him for several hours.  Please keep our military men and women in your thoughts and prayers.  God Bless America!

Trick or Treat Ghost!

This is a sneak peak of a brand new set called "Boo to You" that is being released next Tuesday by Mark's Finest Papers  I just absolutely LOVE this set and can't put it down!!!!!  And I really don't need Halloween cards!!!!  LOL  This card is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch square card.  I used my new Martha Stewart Halloween punches on the front and the inside of the card.  Sorry, but I forgot to photograph the inside of the card, and it's very rainy today so the photos did NOT come out!!!  So you'll just have to take my word that the inside is as cute as the outside with the sentiment "boo to you"!

Stamps:  Boo to You by MFP
Paper:  Snow Storm Smooth, Lily Pad Smooth, Speedy the Cat Black Linen by MFP
Ink:  Palette Noir
Mist:  copics, MS PATP punches, pop dots, brads

I hope you're not having as much rain where you are as we are. We've had flash flood warnings all day and many major roads have been closed.  Hopefully we won't have to build an ark before this is all over LOL.
