2 Pears

I just love this stamp set.  It is a sneak peak of a stamp set that will be released by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co in June.  I colored the pears with Spectrum Noir Pens and Copics.  I cut out the left pear and popped it up with pop dots.  I really liked the way this card turned out.  It was wonderful being back in my stamp room yesterday!

Pretty Sketched Poppy

Sorry that I've been away for so long!!!  I've been sewing for Baby Ronak, and then we were on vacation for 2 weeks in St. Lucia.  We just got home on Wednesday. 

It was good to get back into my stamping room today!  It's been a long time, in fact too long!  I enjoyed making a couple of cards for the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS.  I will post the 2nd card tomorrow.

Soft Summer Petals

Wow, I can't believe it's been over 2 weeks since I have posted anything to my blog!!!  I've been busy sewing and haven't made any cards until today.  I'm making baby things for Allanna who is due at the end of the month.  Can't wait to find out if it's a girl or a boy.  I'm currently working on a heirloom Christening blanket that Allanna wants to hand down from generation to generation.  Maybe I'll post a picture of it here when I get it finished if anyone is interested in seeing it.  Just leave me a comment and let me know.  I may even start a sewing blog, we'll see.

Another Colorway

This is another color of a card I made a few weeks ago  I love the clean lines of this design.  I used Costal Cabana for this card.  I stamped the envelope also.

Green Shell

Speedy Fox & Friends Blog Challenge~~Sponged Circles

This week's Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge is to sponge some circles on your card.  I sponged the bubbles by punching a 1/4" circle in a piece of card stock, and using a sponge dauber to make the bubbles.

Speedy Fox & Friends blog challenge~~use a stencil

Our challenge this week for Speedy Fox & Friends is to use a stencil. I used a brass carrot stencil, then colored it with chalks.   The image is "Blessings" from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  I colored the bunny and flowers with Spectrum Noir Pens. I don't know if you can tell, but I also have 3 vertical score lines where I used my score pal and put them between the carrot and bunny.  It just gives a little separation between the 2 images.

Family Portrait

 

When I saw this new set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co., I immediately thought of old portraits and how they used to hang them with ribbon or cording.  That is what I tried to convey with this card.  I tried 6 different colors of ink before I settled on Soft Suede for the portrait.  I wanted a vintage feel to the image.  The floral background paper reminds me of old wallpaper.  This is a very very CAS card, but I like the way it turned out.  I hope you do too.

Calm and Wisdom

Today is the first day of the 2nd week of our blog hop for Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  We are featuring "Calm and Wisdom".  I kept this card very CAS and stamped the image with Versa Mark and heat embossed her in Speedy the Cat Gold Detail Embossing Powder.  I used a piece of gold paper behind my coin that I attached with gold cord.  My sweet neighbor gave me some of the pretty Japanese fancy papers that I used for the background.

This was such an easy card to make.  I stamped the Swallowtail with Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my Spectrum Noir pens in two different shades of yellow--although you can't really tell it's two shades in the photo.  I stamped the butterfly sentiment and voila', my card was done.  I may make more of these and use for my December birthday cards.  I need something simple this month since I'm already behind!  LOL

After I heat embossed the tree and sentiment with black embossing powder, I used Smooch Illuminate on the branches of the tree, but you can't see it in the photo.  In real life, it give the tree a nice shimmer.
